Overall, although not a revolutionary update, Adobe’s new photo editing program has some great improvements and highly requested features that users have been asking for. Without a subscription, editing on a different device would require the user to shell out another $149 for another Lightroom 6 license. Lightroom 6 is for the first time releasing as a standalone program for $149, yet Adobe is pushing their Creative Cloud for syncing photos across multiple devices, which will set subscribers back at least $9.99 a month. A few features have been added including facial recognition (something many had hoped would be included in its predecessor feature set), syncing across devices for those with Adobe's subscription, and finally improved editing tools and HDR tools which is almost necessary now that many smartphones support the technology. In response to this, the team at Adobe has put a lot of time in increasing the to fit users’ expectations, particularly for tools such as exposure and distortion. Lightroom 5 has largely been known as very resource-intensive and although the feature set is rich, some feel it could be faster and less choppy, especially on newer computers. The main focal point of the newest version of Lightroom is on speed for all devices running the program. Its clean, elegant interface literally steps out of the way and lets you quickly view and. So you can spend less time sorting and refining photographs, and more time actually shooting them.
The update has a main focus on speed rather than revolutionary feature changes, but there have been some new features added that longtime users of the software have been asking for since the release of Lightroom 5. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is the efficient new way for professional photographers to import, select, develop, and showcase large volumes of digital images.
