The 4k60 video is actually worse in vlc (where it just gives up playing the video), the Windows media player has 1s of smooth playback, 1s choppy video, and so on. In the default apps Movies&TV and Windows media player the 4Kp120 (and below) videos work with no problems but 1080p240 and 4k60 video are choppy/laggy. I can play all the video files in MPC-HC with no problems, statistics panel shows only 9 dropped frames for the 1080p 240 fps video, all others have 0 drops. The monitor I am using is only Full HD, is this a problem for VLC when playing 2.7k or 4k videos?

Hello, I just bought a gopro camera and I tested the various recording modes on it but when playing them back on the pc anything above 1080p60 has problems by either freezing completely after the first second or having massive frame drops.
